In The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Sam Wilson is forced to reckon with the purity of an American symbol, and whether he’s ready to take up a mantle that might not be ready for him. Like Captain America’s shield itself, Marvel can be equally shallow and symbolic depending on how it’s wielded. As a lifelong comic book reader, I find myself readily agreeing with both assessments. For others, it’s a corporate megalomaniac peddling half-baked stories that take themselves too seriously to say anything significant. For some, it’s a beloved storytelling vessel that has defined and redefined the definition of heroism over the course of multiple generations. The same could be said about Marvel itself. Bucky Barnes ( Sebastian Stan) gives his old pal Sam a weighted look and says, “That shield means a lot of things to a lot of people.” After ricocheting along a copse of cushioned tree trunks, it boomerangs back to his arms, knocking him back with the force of a sucker punch. Until then, fans can see Russell in Under the Banner of Heaven, now streaming on Hulu.In a teaser for Marvel’s newest Disney+ series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, we watch Sam Wilson ( Anthony Mackie) toss Captain America’s vibranium shield around like a Frisbee. Agent to make another appearance in the MCU, but the nature of his final scene would suggest Kevin Feige probably has something up his sleeve for the character’s future. There are currently no public plans for U.S. So, anytime I get the opportunity or hear about the chance to reprise a character or work for Marvel again, it’s very exciting because the people are wonderful. The teams they have there are unbelievable. I really enjoy playing the character, and my experience working with Marvel was an unbelievable working experience and collaborative, working with Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, and Kari Skogland.
